This one is mainly for Wader_noob or anyone else that is familiar with the Corpus/Aransas area.

How is Redfish bay? I have a little jon boat and am thinking of trying to make a trip down there before too long. Of course, with the little boat the weather would have to be pretty nice and smooth.

Is Redfish bay usually pretty packed? I have never been through that area (only from Corpus to Port A and back), is it really shallow, too shallow, etc?

Is it packed on the weekends? YES. Is it really shallow? Well that depends on where you run. This time of year you'll see practically dry dirt on some of the shallower flats at low tide, but there are cuts and stuff that are well known. Looking at a map before hand would do you a lot of good.

The water there is clear, it can be muddy with a real strong wind but it's clearer than the upper coast for sure.
