Hi guys,

My website, http://www.fishing-headquarters.com will be hosting its 2nd annual Panfish Angling Tournament - held for the Sunfish and Crappie species of fish. We held our first tournament last year in July, 2007. Roughly 10 people registered and approximately 6 of us placed in the standings. It was a great time - but too bad more people didn't join.

View Last Year's Tournament:: http://www.fishing-headquarters.com/articles/panfishrecap07.html

The 2008 tournament will be held from June 1, thru June 31, 2008

The competition will be based on a points and size limit system, so the more you catch and if it meets size regulations, the more probable it is you will win. Winner will win some pretty good prizes for this one. Those anglers participating in this tournament will have a chance to place in the Fishing Headquarters Angler of the Year standings as we have five tournaments scheduled for 2008 and the individual with the most points from the tournaments combined will win this award for our braggin' rights.

To view a list of our rules, guidelines and acceptable species, please click the following link posted below:: http://www.fishing-headquarters.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1905

Why would we need to wait until one week prior to the tournament to find out what the rules and regulations are so we can determine whether or not to participate?

Hi Bream,

Well, the one-week rule has always been the same since we began having these events in 2007. The reason for it is to discourage any potential cheating and to prevent anglers from getting an "extended" practice/pre-fish session. It's not likely it would happen but you never know. One week of "practice" seems to be a good enough number. It seems logical.

If you want a general idea, here's the rules and regs we had last year. A few minor additions will be made for this year. Other than that, it's going to be pretty much the same exact thing.

Thanks. Good fishing to you too.
