After years of trying, and coming close, I finally got my 1st 3lb crappie! Had a 2-14 Monday, and this one Tuesday that went 3lb 6oz. JB Thomas. The smaller males are shallow and most of the big females are still staged at 7'-10' and moving in and out of the shallows.

This fish was only 16" long, but a PIG! The fish next to it weighed 2lbs 4oz for comparison. I had just checked and calibrated my scales after weighing the 2-14 the day before. As in another post, Brian....AKA BKG caught one over 3 the same day.

It's not easy pickings, as the fish are scattered on rocks, and you just have to keep looking.

Nice fish BTW.

WOW thats great! Those big ones are a blast to catch, I was on Chambers a few years back and boated a couple of 3# (on back to back cast). I caught them on a 4" black neon Denny Brauer flipping tube on accident eeks
