I had a good day on Ray Bob yesterday so I called my buds Boston Bob, Brad and Malic Poole (FliesByNight) to hit the lake today. Got on the water about 9:30 AM. We hit some of the main lake points and humps using TNT 180s with chartreuse flies tied above them. Bob was really hammering the sandies on the 180s. I had to threaten to throw Bob out of the boat so he finally donated some 180s to the rest of us. We ended the day at about 2 PM with 307 sandies on the counter. I love that lake. Wish we could have fished longer but I had to pick up my lovely wife at the airport. Saw Reelin Ray Roberts, he and his guests were really whacking the sandies every time I saw them.

My success rate on LL has been poor so far this year and its nice to go the RR. Hopefully LL will turn around soon. Can't afford the gas to make the trip to RR all the time.

Joe,

Good seeing you yesterday and your crew today. We went north after we saw you last and really got into them again. The warming water really has them going.

Joe I enjoyed fishing with you as usuall. You and Bob are a funny group to fish with. Ya he was killing on TNT's but he also had some streecks of 5 or so fish off just fly. And we had more doubles then ive had if for ever.

Tim it was great to see you again. It didn't supprise me I saw you hammering the fish(again) hope we get the chance to fish with you this season. Last time was a busy year for us. School and work and what not

Bob, great seeing you. Glad you can sorta get in the boat without really being in pain. But I hope it feels better soon and next time we fish in the same boat. Keep in mind I will be the one catching all the fish.

O.K., "WE" caught 307 fish today (Bigdad 19, Malic 75, Brad 7, Boston Bob 206). Ha HA!!!!!!! Just kidding guys. There was a running joke in the boat, but seriously we were all slaughtering them. AND THOSE FLIES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!! I caught several doubles and several just on the fly!!!! You guys gotta get these www.Flies-By-Night.com. And those TNT's were just killing them!!!!!!

I can't remember the last fishing trip where I laughed so hard!!! We were cuttin' up and actin' the arse (oh, maybe that was just me)!!!!! That was just a blast!!!! I actually had a woman tell me "F-U" today, from her boat. She is my neighbors wife, and it was all said with love (I think).

I always love fishing out of Bigdads boat (a LOT bigger than mine). And it was funny, it had plenty of Coronas in it, but the vodka for the bloody marys ran out quick!!! What's up with that??????? Guys, it was truly a great time fishing with y'all. I wish we could do more trips like that. Cuz fish or no fish, that was just plain fun.

It was nice to see Lite-liner and his little girl (dude, you GOTTA get a trolling motor and some electronics), Texasredneck70 (and his wife, even if she did call me "tiny" and tell me F-U), Ol Earl, and of course Reelin Ray Roberts (Tim, I hope we didn't crowd ya too bad). The fishin' is only getting better. IT IS FINALLY TIME!!!!!!!

Ya, as usual the lake was fun, but the real blast was
watching my girl put the smack on those big sandies!
I had waited 7 years for yesterday to happen. when I got home
I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. oh yeah, as usual, I get beat by a girl....(18-3), and she caught a couple slobs that were
easily over 2#.
BTW, all sandies but 1 came on Malic's flies. got 1 dink on
a humdinger, and not one fish on the slab.
as far as electronics & a T/m, well, I've almost got enough for the electronics, but I'm currently accepting charitable
donations for the trolling mtr. LoL! banana
Still managed 13 fish off the birds & dead-reckoning
before starting to pot-lick off BigDad, Bob, & the rest of the sandy-wrecking crew. Thanks for the Beverages, BigDad!
tight lines & thanks to all for helping w/ a great time
-Brian

Brian,
Your daughter is a real cutie. Looked like she was really enjoying herself. Was that her first time out?

You guys wack'em every time. I was out there too but up in the creeks. Sounds like you guys had more fun than me. I see you guys a lot on lewisville but I have decided to stay off that lake this year. I get tired of all the big boats and their wake come saturday and sunday afternoon. I am still trying to learn Raybob, Saturday was my first day out.

Hey Brian, you're fishing without a fish finder? I have a mid 1980's fish finder on my boat and I thought that was bad. Have you taken the pup out on the water yet?

Also, I was curious about the setup ya'll were using. How high about the slabs were you tying the flies. It makes sense, but I have never thought about using that method. If someone could tell me in depth exactly how you rig that up, I would appreciate it.

Tie the flies about 12-18" above the slab using a dropper loop knot.

Good luck with it. It looks simple (and it is once you "get it") but it took me almost a whole season before I could do it right. I always had to have Bigdad tie mine for me. Of course, I'm really not very bright so that may have a lot to do with it!!!!!
