 Lake Travis Magnum Whites PICS!

LAKE TRAVIS-SUNDAY-OCTOBER 21st from 8am to 4pm. Started fishing Sunday morning. Water temp was 79.2 degrees and winds were whipping up at 10mph gusting to 20mph by mid-morning. Took two friends out that wanted to catch some white bass on light action gear. Fished Crankbaits.... Totals: 31 whites from 12" to 17" Caught small bass, both LT specials and Largemouth. Below, John holding one of many 17" whites.  Below Glen has one of the smaller 15" whites.

Hey John!
Travis whites are very big....that's for sure.
One day, I caught one that had a black back and silver side instead of green back like most whites.
It was so big and I had such a great time getting it in the boat, I just looked at my nephew in amazement and couldn't stop laughing.
Man what a rush!!!!
Hey Robert, whose boat were you in...that doesn't look like your Ranger?
Oh..after a closer look, looks like you added a few rod holders.

I was in mine...I fish with one rod holder on each side of the boat, then I use the back seat pole to hold my micro-ultralight rod/reel. This setup will always out catch the two others.
We fished the same area, a couple weeks ago and caught a lot of big whites. I checked their tongue, to make sure they were whites..
NO CRAPPIE FISHING LATELY....
We tried for a while looking for striper..No luck.
Just waiting for the cooler weather to fish Buchanan on Top!

You guys may be eating a lake record, the Travis white bass record currently stands at 2.9 pounds for a 17.1" fish.

Terry,
I have caught several 18" whites and 16" crappie...So, I know that we have eaten the lake records on both fish..I guess, I will consider turning one in...the next time.
Thanks for the comments...It is always fun to take others fishing, that do not have a boat or opportunity for fast action fishing. The whites have been fatter this year. Last year, when the lake was low, the whites were skinny!
Lake Travis should have a good spawn, with the lake at normal elevation...
