Had a great morning with new friends Alden, Victor, Chase and Matthew. Thought we might be a little crowded in my boat, but we were well within weight limits and that lil boat sure does fish big. (barbless hooks) We didn't have to go a long way today. We just popped around a corner and there they were!
How thick were they? Well you know those toy casting things Bill Dance advertises that shoot your line out and reel it in? Five- year-old Matthew caught one with the contraption. I had to promote Matthew to First Mate, he was really covering some territory with the landing net and doing a brilliant job. He loved driving (with adult assist) He can also identify a sandy from a hybrid, quite the kid.
Started fishing at 7:30 and quit at 11:00 with 115 on the clicker.
Water temp 90+ depth from 8-28 feet. If your're not catching them in the "usual places," look in the UN-usual places.
Here's a pix of the crew and a few we kept for the freezer. We have more photoe, probably put them in "Photos" thread tomorrow.
