No experience, but it looks like it could work.

It looks pretty interesting. Less bulky and possibly easier to use than the ram mount. I suspect you could tape the magnet inside the hull so you don't always have to reach in to mount it. Would love to hear if anyone has tried it. I am tempted to go ahead and order it.
Edit: I was about ready to submit my order but there is a $16 S&H charge on top of the $86 for the mount itself. The S&H charge seemed excessive so I cancelled. Might change my mind later but $102 total is pretty high for a few magnets and connectors.

I completely agree! I cancelled my order when I saw that 20% shipping premium. All I could figure is that it is Canada, but still ...

shouldn't be to hard to replicate with some really good magnets and a trip to the hardware store.

Talked to them about shipping and that "is their cost" coming from Canada. Now I am shifting over to the RAM idea (since I am already deep into that system). http://www.rammount.com/products/kayak/transducer --- now trying to figure out which mount for a Humminbird Helix 5 transducer with sidescan? Stepping off into rocket science ... and possibly a death spiral.

Thanks for the info. It probably would have felt better if the product was priced slightly higher with a lower shipping charge, but $16 shipping was a shocker. I already have the ram mount so spending over $100 to get something else seems foolish but being a fool has not often gotten in my way in the past. I may spring for it eventually because it seems less bulky on the side of the kayak and when I take it off the kayak, the ram mount and transducer is clumsier to transport and store.
Will post a review if I do spring for it.
