Over time I've researched lakes for tubing, small boats etc. I've mentioned this list before and from time to time guys will find the old posts and PM me for the lakes.... So here are a few I recall off the top of my head. Will add more as I remember them. Some are bigger than others and some are sized similiarly to these but I left off the list due to distance from ramp to good fishing (like Monticello). Research them, plan a trip and catch a hawg!

And add a few if you like!

Bonham City Lake
Bonham State Park
Mineral Wells SP
Tyler SP
Bonham SP
Cleburne SP
Purtis creek SP
Meridian SP
Big Creek Lake

Muenster Lake

Lake Naconiche
Lake Pinkston
Lake Jacksboro
lost Creek reservoir
Lake Quitman
Mill Creek
Lake Timpson

Lake Waxahachie
Lake Clark (Ennis)
Black Creek - LBJ Grasslands

Bouton Lake, Little Bouton Lake, Boykin Springs and Lake Ratcliff are all perfect for tubers, kayakers, etc.

Muenster is pretty well young fish still but should be promising in a few more years I imagine? Winter this past year probably didn't help with a lake that size, and I know the summers aren't helping any of them (LBJ grasslands lakes are GONE)

Clear lake and Black creek still have water but the surface area is way down on both. I

Windmill lake has very little water in them.

I went out to them Friday to see how bad they were.

As a kid I did a lot fishing at Lake Holbrook my grandparents have a cabin with a dock there and my brother and I used to catch big bluegills and sunfish off of it. I caught my first LMB off that dock when I was a kid. Good memories of that lake. Now I live right by Lake Lavon....but I grew up in Wylie I just live on the other side of the lake now.

rhodes lake in lbj grasslands is just about gone too. Dan's Pond is gone, went out today and the last puddle is about the size of a kitchen table, a few centimeters deep. Small school of minnows were all that was left along with a baby snapping turtle. Crappie and bass bones everywhere.

can you put small boats in at herman baker park/pickens lake in Sherman? I have never had luck there form the shore at all but would be a fun little spot even just to cruise on the pond prowler, very nice area there.

rhodes was fishing heaven just a few years ago. I caught my 3 biggest bass from there including one just under 10. I'm sad

every time someone brings up LBJ grasslands I want to cry... that was me and my wife's favorite place to go out and enjoy life on the 2 man boats. Perfect fisheries/nature areas. Just far enough away and just accessible enough.

Mulholland,

I know what you mean. I grew up fishing on those lakes.......... I want to cry when I remember the times I had with my dad on the grasslands.........
