Port Mansfield - Yearly Post - 06/28/17 04:27 AM
Ok, it's that time of year again... Me and a group of fellow Coaches are headed back down to Port Mansfield from 7/5-7/9 from the DFW area for our annual trip. This is my 5th consecutive year on this particular trip and something we look forward to every year! We usually don't have a problem catching trout, but in the past few years have struggled catching redfish. Do you guys have any suggestions for catching some reds?? Live bait, plastics, places, GPS Coordinates (LOL), anything helps!
Thanks for the help! We are hoping to put a hurt on them!

Contact me if you would like, and maybe I could give you a few pointers.

Thanks, I definitely will! Yes, we pull a blue wave down every year. I know a shallow water boat would give us more options, but we catch trout usually without needing one. I haven't caught a redfish down there in 2 years, but caught some the first 3 years.

Free lined finger mullet at the jetties. Weedless gold spoons or soft plastics on the flats.

Channel. On the beach side in October you can hook tarpon the same way.
