Galveston Next Week

I am going down to Galveston for a couple of days next week, didn't know if anyone could tell me about fishing on my own somewhere or a good recommendation for a guide maybe in the flat/bay area. Thanks for any info someone can provide.

Look at the surf forecasts. The surf is holding a lot of trout and when the weather cooperates, it is great. I would fish the surf over the bays when the wind lays down. Monday and Tuesday are looking perfect.

Pope1 is right. Both days look great for the surf as long as forecast holds. If you're fishing morning, stay till at least noon. Looks like a late morning bite based on tides. Let us know how you do.

Hey guys. I'll be down there in early August with my 16 y/o son for about 8 days. Spending some father-son quality time. Renting a place on the beach just past San Luis pass if headed west. We will mostly be doing surf fishing. Any recommendations on lures and/or baits to use. Honestly any fishing recommendations will help. A guide for a day or 2 of bay fishing also would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Don't mean to hijack the thread. Figured the fishing should be the same from now till the end of summer.
