Will be in the Christmas Bay area this coming week. Looking for insight into the best kayak launch/parking locations.

Bill,

I fished down in Galveston in a wobbly canoe with my bros-in-law about 3 months ago. Other than feeling like I was going to fall in, it was a blast! I was sitting in the front and I had to splay my legs apart and hang them over the gunwales to balance the thing.

Take a look here. You might find some references to info on Christmas Bay.

Hey! you need to come "north" and we'll fish a lake. I tried to call you several weeks ago, left a message, but forgot to follow up.

Sorry about missing your call - it did not register on my phone or I would have returned the call. Will be staying down here for about a week before heading back home. Thanks for the link.

I fished Christmas Bay several years ago from a yak. As I recall, if you are heading southwest toward Surfside along the Blue Water Highway there is a road to the bay that is a couple miles beyond San Luis Pass. The road is across the highway from some condos. It leads to a small boat ramp with some parking.

Look at Google Earth and find Amigo Lane and Dolphin Lane. They both have good places to launch into Christmas Bay with adequate parking.

Thanks for the info guys. Very helpful. Now, all I need is for the weather to cooperate.
