Navigating at Night - Sievers/Bolivar

Navigating at Night - Sievers/Bolivar - 05/17/17 07:45 PM

I'm headed to Bolivar in a few weeks and some of the best fishing I've had is at night if the tide is moving. I haven't run in the ICW up there and wondering if anyone had experience of the conditions. Looks like a few miles to the East of Sievers are some canals that might be good. Also could cut across the ICW and wade around Goat Island. Just wondering how clear it was to navigate and if there was any lighting at all. I would expect the ICW to be pretty clear but making sure I'm not missing something. Of course it'll be slow going not WAO. I'll post back on how it goes.

Tide moving which way? In or out? Spend the night on Hanna's Reef if the wind isn't blowin'

It looks like there should be a good difference between high at 3:20pm and low about 11:20pm so I was hoping to fish about 7p-11p, so outgoing tide. Not sure how I feel about wading at night as I'm not super familiar with it and I'd rather not go out like that! Probably looking to stay in a few of those canal neighborhoods off the ICW about 2 and 4 miles east of Sievers. I think I'll get out and run it during the day just to see what's out there before navigating at night.
