Pine Gully Park in Seabrook

Posted By: Jim_Campbell

Pine Gully Park in Seabrook - 11/08/09 12:10 AM

Located off Todville Road.

Wife and I were cruising the area today and saw the sign. I drove through the park real quick and noticed a real nice fishing pier, non lighted and T shaped, looked real nice.

The cost for non Seabrook residents is 5 bucks a car and 2 bucks for Seabrook residents. No bait nor concessions on site (that I could see).

Anybody have any knowledge of the quality of fishing at this park?

Hey Jim where ya been havnt seen u post in a while

that pier is open from 645 am till 645pm so i guess they figured they dont need lights, ive gone bout 4 times in the last month including this friday morning, last friday saw noone catch anything, whether it was live or dead, nothing was hitting, the water was really dirty and very very calm, but other tims ive gone i seen ppl catch black drum on dead shrimp, reds on dead and live an cut bait, flounders ehhhh have only seen two caught there in the 4 times ive been, but i havnt been there enough to learn how to fish that pier good, but from what i know when the water is clear is the best there and really doesnt matter where on the pier you fish it doesnt matter from what ive seen.. ive seen guys all the way dwn to the T with 10-12ft surf rods and catch noting but whitings and hard heads.. i just laughed while the ppl about halfway down the pier were doing the better catching,,, im actualy goin today in about an hour or so.. the water is a bit ruff so ima go check n see how the fishin is when the wateris ruff down there... oh and u can use a cast net off that pier too

ok guys and gals,, just got out the shower and from putting up all the gear, got to pine gully around 11'ish, getting to where we were gunna fish at a guy is just pulling up a nice id say 40 in bull red... so set up with my live shrimp and cast out my lil brothers rod and my wife casted hers ( i waited for one of them to catch me some cutbait), in the meen time im watching this guy hook a fish head on his hook and launching it out ( im thinkin to myself hes not gunna catch anything with that), 5minutes later this dude pulls up a 46inch bull red im like wtf on a fish head??? and that was just 10 minutes from the other guy catching that 40 incher... well my wife caught three fish.. two gd size sand trout which i used for cut bait and one ok sized whiting which we threw back,, me and my brother on the other hand didnt catch a thing... not even a nibble on either the live shrimp or cut bait,, ppl around us were pulling up gd sand trout left and right and they were all using dead shrimp.. i guess because of the water bien ruff dead bait was the best thing to use,, oh and the guy who caught the 40 incher was using dead shrimp.. after those two reds nothin else big was bieng pulled up,, some guy caught a 12 inch jack on dead shrimp too.. around 4:30 or so two flounders were caught.. one undersized and one 16 incher... well besides all that let me say there were a bunch of idiots out there casting over my lines everytim they threw it out. i think i spent most of my time untangling my lines from others.. until i just cut one guys line off they stopped casting near me,, but that small pier got packed prety good.. but alot of idiots sorry to say, id go better in the morning and leave around 3 or 4 cuz thats when alot of ppl started coming.. overall bad fishing day and experience there today

Re: Pine Gully Park in Seabrook - 11/09/09 10:33 PM

Cool. I took my 9 year old and a couple of his friends there yesterday. Wasnt really taking things too serious, just helping the boys. Then one of the boys hooked on to a Red - His drag was really tight - I did not know. He lost it at the pier. I would say it looked around 28 inches. I am going back. Everyone on the pier was very polite.

Re: Pine Gully Park in Seabrook - 11/10/09 03:35 AM

i do see alot of ppl casting for bait. mstly mullet at pine gully, and there was this one place off 146 and red bluff that i used to catch bait but they fenced it off and now noone can fish there,, ohhh u know wut im retarded,, i see ppl casting under the kemah bridge.. if ur coming from say baytown, right bfore the bridge stay to the right lane nd go to the side of the bridge and ull end up at the stop sign, as if u were going to the seafood market u knw, at the stop sign keep going straight to the parking lot and u can cast off to the right, i alwys forget my net is why i forgot about that place

Re: Pine Gully Park in Seabrook - 11/11/09 12:18 PM

Pine Gully Park

You can catch Nice reds & flounder.
And the TX wildlife does partol the area maybe not enough but you will see them from time to time.

Do not through your cast net from the pier or any where along second street in seabrook. There are sign posting that say you cannot use a cast net.

It is a nice sandy bottom by the pier so you can wade fish if you like.

On the weekends the pier is totally packed.
