4/4 Flounder report - Rockport - 04/05/18 07:57 AM

4/4/2018
I had the Elle K. group of 2 onboard tonight, all the way from New Jersey. Conditions were poor, with ENE wind at 15mph, light rain showers, and very high tide levels. With 30mph winds from this morning's cold front and rain most of the afternoon, the water clarity was poor just about everywhere. We had to focus on small protected pockets with soft mud bottom to find the fish. The fish were not very active tonight and widely scattered, a big change from last night's fast pre-front action. We ended with a 10 flounder limit plus 1 black drum by 11:15pm (3 hours of gigging).

Upcoming open dates:
April: 8, 9, 11, 12, 17-19, 23-26, 30
May: 1, 6-9, 12-17, 19-24, 27, 28, 30
June: 5, 8, 10-15, 17-19, 21-30

I also do "late trips" if I finish quickly with my first group. Late trips usually leave the dock 10pm-1am. Please call for availability. This is the best way to get a trip on short notice when I am already booked.

Price: $550 for 3 people, $100 each additional person, up to 6 people
