Port O'Connor / Seadrift info

Hey guys, I've been fishing POC/Seadrift area for quite a while now and have mostly fished the normal Pringle lake, chain of islands, southpass etc etc. I'm curious about the further back lakes like contee, long lake, twin lakes, Corey cove, panther point and the reefs in SABay. Are there any major obstructions getting into any of these areas? Any suggestions on the best way in and out of them? I know theres some pylons to get around going into Pringle from the east side and I know how to get into Pringle from the center after watching a few others do it, my question is are the other lakes like this? Any help you could give will be appreciated much. Not afraid to explore and find new areas but damn sure don't wanna tear anything up in the process.

Contee can be kinda dicey when the water falls out, but that's when it's at its best. You can either run the sand flat on the north side in, or run the marsh from Pringle or south from south pass, both will hold more water than the flat. But it's a lot of turns.

Fifth lake is just further back, once you're in contee, it's not a big deal.
Long, south, pats, are all no big deal in and out, just pay attention to the random sand bars.
Power lake takes a bonafide shallow running rig to get in and out of.
If you want to run around steamboat, pay attention to the waves breaking on the reefs, they go all different directions, and are pretty tricky.

Or just get a jet and not worry about any of it....

Thanks for the response Pat, all of that is helpful. I run a tunnel hull and can get pretty shallow if I'm up on a plane, once it sets down it a little different story though. Do you think any of the areas you mentioned are any shallower than the sand flats getting into the center of Pringle? That's about the shallowest I've run thru and I have no problem with it at all.

Also, is the channel running from the back of Pats into Power Lake too shallow for anything but a jet?

Definitely hire a guide for a day to learn the areas. It may cost a little up front but will save on repairs an agony of getting stuck.

Everything always depends on the tides. High tides with SE wind a battleship can run into Contee. Hard north wind and no prop rig can make it.

I’ve gotten really lazy since running the jet because it’ll run anything but slicked over shoal water. Nathan’s offer would save you a lot of pain by learning the correct trails in and out of places. All I can show you is how to get in real trouble really quick.
