if you want to fish yellowfin tunas with a rod that's <$100, this is about your only choice, although the long, parabolic action is gonna wear you out jigging.
Additionally, You will most likely discover it's harder to control your fish
when you're straight up/down & near the boat. Don't get me wrong, not denying
the cheap gear will work, but this is tuna fishing. EVERY aspect of tuna fishing is way more expensive than just about any other fish. IMO it's better to save some xtra $$, & buy the right rod the first time.
Serious Tackle down in Houston has a line of jigging-SPECIFIC rods
(SeaMagic dragonfly) that are in the $150-200 range that will work much better for what you're trying to accomplish.
