Recommendations for Venice Tuna Charter

Recommendations for Venice Tuna Charter - 08/15/14 04:39 AM

Fellow TFF'frs,

I typically spend my time in the bass section. I am looking to book a trip to Venice in May of 15. There will be 4-6 of us on the trip. I am hoping some of you can give me a recommendation for an offshore charter to pursue yellowfin and other blue-water fish. We are thinking about a day inshore and a day off. I do like the idea of some of the guys that can provide meals and lodging. If any of you saltwater Venice veterans can give me some feedback I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

My Best,
Justin

Thanks! I did read a terrible review in the LA fishing forum about an outfit there that made me nervous. We will be spending a lot of $$ to do this and just want to make sure I hire someone that is going to bust their tail for us. Please, anyone else with an opinion or knowledge chime in.

Thanks again lite-liner!

I don't know if they go off shore, but he knows a lot of guides in the area and can prolly point you in the right direction....

I have seen a couple of bad reports for Venice but not many. I've seen a lot of people recommend Eddie Burger although I have not fished with him personally.

Definitely Capt Eddie Burger is also a good choice. 36 ft Contender.

eddies boat is fast, lee his roommate has a boat that is almost as fast but drier and more fuel efficient capt hoop is a little slower (he's 72) but will stay out until you beg to come in,he also does inshore they all work together..I have fished with all three eddie has a rep for being a bad azz I went out with him and struck out..my bad luck! would I go out with him again?...any day any time.... on other trips I have seen him kick butt i met lee in may after the weather caused eddie to cancel for two days the third he already had booked so we went out with lee and caught the biggest fish in the marina that day everyone was catching 30-60 lbers we unloaded a 70,85 and 135 the yr before hoop put us on 4 60's and more reef donkeys than I want to talk about .....venice capt's help each other out.. any capt will be able to get you on fish now....if any of these three were to call me and say I need a place to stay all three are welcome in my house
