Sunglasses for Cycling - 10/25/16 04:36 PM

What shades do y'all wear? I've been wearing my Costa's but there isn't really anywhere to put them if I take them off. The curved arms don't fit down the wind slots in my helmet, and I really don't want to break my fishing glasses.

What are decent options?

I put them in my spandex when I'm bicycling grin

Off brand kind with interchangeable lenses. I never take mine off. I have weak eyes(squint too much if not) in bright light.

Don't buy metal frame....break your nose in a wreck.

I always bought Smith Optics for fishing, they are even bigger into biking. I plan on looking at them when I do buy a good pair. Great warranty.

I either wear my Costas or Oakley's when I ride, granted they're both prescription lenses so that helps...

I'm the only guy in Wichita Falls wearing polorized tortoiseshell fishing glasses. I'm thinking it's about time to break down and get some go fast shades. Silver and orange seems to be the color here.

I have a full face shield on my helmet. Tinted, polarized, and awesome.

Different color lenses for different riding conditions. Important IMO.

Are they UV rated? Are they safety certified to not shatter? Very important they are!

Watchout, rock(from a passing car), stick or concrete will shatter that cheap lens and can cause major eye damage. Safety rated glasses don't cost much more. Can't replace eyeballs.

I was more curious along the line of which frame. Brand is pretty easy for me to figure out.

Or maybe these, in orange. That'd for sure make you atleast look fast.

Like I mentioned, interchangeable lenses(frame style). Wide coverage to your cheek....keep wind out of eyes.

Oakley for riding = hands down. M Frames are my favorite for any kind of cycling...quick lense change for conditions.

Re: Sunglasses for Cycling - 03/21/17 08:38 PM

Been seeing tons of cycling folks wearing the Oakley Jawbreakers for a while now. Jump on amazon looking for nothing in particular and come across these Shades. Sound nearly too good to be true so I ordered a pair of the black frames. Least I'll look the part now.

Lost my old shades sometime this past winter and rode 50miles last Saturday without anything and my eyes burned all day Sunday, so it's kind of good timing. About a $200 saving in these versus the real ones.
