Weird question about kayak carts

Ok, so I am getting back into kayaking/yak fishing, one of the primary reasons is because I want to get back into shape so I can go to the police academy. There is a boat ramp 1.6 miles from my front door, I plan to walk/jog my kayak (once I buy one, hopefully sometime this week) to the ramp, paddle and fish for at least an hour and do the same thing on the way home. It will give me 3.2 miles plus the exercise from kayaking. I need a cart that will carry a yak and be able to do all that at least 3 times a week. I've had issues in the past with the yak slipping off the cart in the past, I want to avoid that happening while jogging and pulling a yak. Any ideas?

Nothing I know of commercially made will work at a jogging speed. But, you could cobble something together using larger wheels/tires and a sling in between. It might look like one of those contraptions dogs with amputated limbs use if you know what I am referring to. Then, you'd need two arms or poles extending forward and you'd pull it along with hands in the position like holding two suitcases, the load of course behind you a few feet.

It might work.

Get a Yakima RackAndRoll trailer and turn it into a rickshaw.

If the kayak is slipping off the cart, it's a poor design or you're not strapping it on properly. Use at least 2 straps. You likely won't be jogging while lifting a kayak on a cart, your natural motion would be totally messed up. Perhaps some ropes on the kayak handle attached to a harness you wear on your torso, like a horse and a plow. Check out the Wike Kayak & Surf + Sailboard Trailer, narrow tires might be better than balloon tires over a distance.

I bet you could make something similar with electrical conduit and the some sort of shoulder strap to attach it to.

For your Yak, the guys on Bonafide FB group are using a modified C-tug. (add 1" pvc pipe+noodle foam ziptied)
if you put that c-tug near the seat-back area, the straps should be able to go around the rear seat posts and then use a second strap towards the stern. v-shape. maybe one strap fine. I never got a chance to try it out, only temporarly in garage/driveway.

the ss127 hull shape is giving guys fits with many of the other available carts.
the other option is make a cart using a milk crate, like member bassfinder78155 uses. we used it on the ss127 when i could not pull the yak over the grass (too steep for my wimpy-ness)
I resisted buying the c-tug due to cost.. in the process spent half as much on scupper cary for tarpon..so in the end the pvc scupper cart was waste of money. not to mention against advice on using that on the Tarpon. that kind of DIY cart can break at pvc joints,as I found out the hard way.

Jogging is controlled jumping from leg to leg
Pulling a kayak on a rickshaw with your back while doing this is a recipe for a back injury

Pulling a rickshaw with a bicycle is what I’d do

If you want to get some jogging done, buy some thick cable lock at HD/Lowe’s/Wally world and lock your kayak, rickshaw style cart, and bicycle after kayaking and do some jogging. Then unlock, and bike home
