Question for Rockport Locals.

Anybody know how the old Balboa courts hotel fared during the storm, if at all. And did most of the piers on Water street get taken away. It's been a favorite of my family since I was about 12 years old (61 now,) and holds a lot of good memories from fishing out on the pier.

Go to Google Earth and take a look. The latest images (post storm) for the Rockport area are on there now.

Looks like it's pretty much destroyed. Doubt it will ever be back. I'm sure the land will be bought and a big fancy house built on it. And that will be that. Breaks my heart.

I know the feeling. Big fancy houses lots of places anymore. Cant blame those folks, I am sure I would do it to if I had the cash.

Life is what you make of it no matter where you live.

When things get tough, you just gotta get tougher.

My family will be helping rebuild Rockport, even if it is brick by brick.

The wade fishing spots in my WadeFish Rockport book may be better than ever with all the new trout and reds pushed into the bays from the Gulf.

My son is the Manager of The Boiling Pot and it may be OPEN by Friday of next week.

rockon ROCKPORT !!!

I'll be there as well.. Spent 5 days lending a hand cutting trees and gutting sheetrock of strangers and neighbors. We'll all get through this together. The generosity of everyone from all over Texas has been inspiring to say the least.

My family & I were blessed in that we received comparatively no loss or damage.
the past week I've been helping get my shop back open, & others when requested.
I have never seen such widespread devastation, I'm not often at a loss for words, but it's indescribable. I'm getting tired of seeing destroyed [censored] everywhere I look, wherever I am.

Was finally able to extract my boat this past Saturday. Amazingly enough only a couple of scratches on the port side rub rail. The storage management was A1 for ensuring the safety of everyone's property by hiring 24-7 security.
