Tamarindo, Costa Rica - 02/09/16 12:35 AM
Has anyone ever done any fishing around Tamarindo? Never been to Costa Rica but will be heading that way in a few weeks for a friends wedding. Can anyone recommend a fishing guide?

I have. Can't remember the captain but he was top rated. An expatriate American that ran several boats. The day we went there was the worse red tide they ever had, our boat was the only one that caught fish. We had to abandon sailfish so he stayed inshore and we caught rooster fish and grouper. Gad a great time. His boats are anchored right at the public beat downtown.
I'll look and see if I can find his info.

We found a local surfer one day and he took us out on his panga one day. I think we gave him 5 surfing T shirts a bunch of stickers and surf wax and he was stoked. I almost forgot about that boat ride.

Is the fishing any good this time of year? I've heard it's very windy.

We went in early March when we were there and yes it was very rough.
