POC Lure Help - 05/02/15 03:07 PM

Taking a trip to Port O'Connor late May early June for redfish and trout. Not trying to be too complicated just looking for a small wade box with topwater, soft plastics, jig head style/weight and/or hard minnow bait.

Chicken on a chain color bass assassin with a 1/4 jig head. Fish off the shell you can find right outside of fishermans cut. White gulp shrimp under a popping cork is a great searching bait as well.

Thanks for the input, with another question. Have you used zoom flukes in saltwater?

I haven't but no reason for that in particular. I think if you go with Shad or minnow type color patterns, or even Chartreuse, you would have no issues using them in salt. I realize the more I fish salt inshore, there are a ton of carry over techniques that work equally as well in the bays. Carolina Rig for example. They call it a flicker rig on the coast but its really almost the exact same rig as a caronlina. Great for flounder by the way.
