Shimano Sahara vs Daiwa BG comparison

Shimano Sahara vs Daiwa BG comparison - 05/23/18 06:20 AM

Has anyone ever compared these two reels?

I remember when I was in college my friends that saltwater fished really liked the Daiwa BG spinning reel.

I am trying to come up with spinning rod and reel combo for bass fishing and would like to pair a 2500 series reel with a 7ft heavy action rod.

Thanks

It should excell at that. From the reading I have done and comparisons to other reels I have used the BG is probably the best reel under $100 and matches reels costing twice as much.
Keep in mind Daiwa runs big, so the 2500 will equal/surpass a 3000 and a BG3000 will match a Shimano/Penn 4000

I am fighting the urge to get one in 2500/3000 size or stick to my Penn BTL2 4000

The diawa bg is a very good reel. Overall performance is great. I have caught land based kings as well as amberjack on the reel. One thing is the roller line guild on the reel tends to not spin as smoothy. Mine actually just stopped working totally.
