I own a house about 100 yards from there.
Shark infested for sure. Used to catch some good sharks there. Now, I just cast off from my rear deck and watch for bites while cooking in the grill.

Well the bait cleared the rail.
Actually largest catch on that rod and reel is a 6'9" Sandbar Shark.

Think you would have gotten a few feet more distance if you started from the top rail

Try a Figure 8 swing next time....When you find out who won and how far they cast, let us know. Back in the day, contests like this was to see if someone could cast over the Dome Stadium...

LOL... well at least he knows how to use the darned rod. I can't recall how many people I've seen fish a pier like that and cast a 14' rod maybe 20'.

Actually have landed a 6'9" and a 7'2" Sandbar Shark off that rig throwing a large casted bait.
