Is it fishable or high flow muddy? Haven't been able to get over there since the storm.

Shoreline is very muddy and slick. water is starting to clear up but still murky. The rains should have pushed some crappie, and for sure some sandies all the way up to Greenville Avenue. That is where the majority of White Rock Lake Sandies spawn. It is ideal for them, deep pools, rushing rapids on limestone bottoms, pea gravel shoals, fine sand bars; classic sand bass spawning grounds. Tarpon Fly has been known to load up on em up there once the spawn starts. In January it is a primo spot to cast net for bait sized shad.

One of the things I've notice is that the sandies spawn pretty early at this creek. While others are still hunting for crappies at other creeks, the sand bass are already spawning here.

Hiya regma. Been a while since I heard from you. I usually start finding them in a spawn mood around the President's day weekend on this creek.

Before the rains, I was getting white bass under the greenville bridge. Most were under 10". However, I had to chase off two guys throwing a cast net, no rods with them.

Appreciate the replies. I normally kayak the creek. Some good holes between Lawther and the dart rail, then it gets to be skinny water for a stretch then deep again. Problem is I have never been able to get all the way to Greenville in a boat because of logjams. I also bike the creek trail and have had some great fishing from bank in different pockets below RO golf course. Only caught Bass and different Sunfish above the golf course dam.

Mtndew. You are a brave dude. Making that phone call or text may be a safer option. Be safe

Mtndw next time call the game warden if you chase them off they just come back but if they get the net taken and fined it will hurt them more.

Furthest I've gotten is a little past where the shallow feeder creek comes in. Thats a few hundred yards past the Dart rail. But the creek constantly changes so the log jam could have cleared from the rains, or it could have gotten bigger. I need to get up there. PM me if you decide to go

Was up there yesterday upstream from Lawther further up from the first couple of crowded bends. Crappie were steadily biting. They're holding tight to structure so take plenty of jigs. Mix of dinks and 11 inchers. The few others I saw had about half a dozen keepers each. Chart/white was the ticket.

I might have to check it out again after the rain.

Hey Reg, any chance they have migrated past the DART rail, and moved on to deeper holes upstream? Depending on the rain situation, i might have to go up there and check it out tomorrow or thursday.

The last time I was there was early December. I did scout the area close to Skillman. But because of the warm weather, I didn't get a lot of action. There wasn't any sign that the shad had move that far upstream. It might be different now since the cold has been holding steady for a few weeks.
