Rowlett Creek Time?

Rowlett Creek Time? - 12/14/15 06:08 PM

Hey y'all last year I went down to Rowlett Creek and had a blast with my friends but I forgot what month it was. The reason I'm asking so early is because I am attending the University of Arkansas right now and I need to start thinking about a time when I can bring a couple of my pledge brothers with me and fish the creek for a couple days! I appreciate your help!

Spring break time is usually in the middle of the white bass spawning run on rowlett. C'mon down! One piece of advice, there has been a lot of construction on Miller road and other areas immediately affecting the creek with earthen dams and other forms of water blockage, that if still around by then could seriously affect the run on Rowlett, stay tuned to TFF for updates. Someone is always posting on the goings on around rowlett creek.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best I can tell driving over the creek daily, the Dams have been blown out about 3 weeks ago. It looks like when the did it, they pulled the logs up and out of the water and stacked them up, then hit the rest with the Backhoe. The Construction should be completed by the first part of the year as long as the weather stays ok for them. Right now it is flooded back out.

The run will be epic if they remove the dams by March. No more low water like last year.

Last year was my first time there. Waded and fly fished for the sandies had a blast catching them. Can't wait to go again this year.

What is the fishing like without the dams? How far do they usually run up the creek? Last year I would just walk the creek until I found them, then I would stay. Hopefully everything works out this year. I live only 20 minutes from the creek and one of my pledge brothers lives only 2 streets from the creek. So he knows that creek very well. Thanks for everyone's help!

They can go up to 190, and they ought to this year with all the water. Will be nice to spread the fishermen out a few more miles.

They might show up this winter. There's plenty of water for them to get through the mouth. It's about 8 feet deep at the mouth. Problem is I used my side imaging on the entire structure the Tollbridge on both sides and all I saw was a few black bass holding on the pylons. So those fish aren't even close to staged to going up the creek. They might have moved the other side of the lake and moving toward the river as most of the shad probably are going that way, due to the fact they have 12 gates open. Highside scanned all of our C and never saw anything but a couple like five small bait balls. Carp few largemouth a few gar that's about all I saw. We fished every stick pile of brush and drop off and have no Picture worthy fish. Still have about a month before gets real cold. So we'll see if they come up or not.

I was out on Hubbard tonight, and it was 4 degrees warmer tonight than it was two weeks ago. Weird warm weather.

Good report saved me a trip over there... I was thinking to check it out but I'll wait.
