Granbury dam?

You still can't fish behind the dam itself, it's also a fairly long walk since you can't park anywhere close to the dam now. You can fish down river a bit if you want. I was there the other day. Lake looks great, just about 100% full now I think. Been a long time.

Was there today--they shut it down while I was there...no good. I still don't understand why you have to stay 200 yards from the dam....dumb....

They referred to "911 security" as the main publicly cited reason. Behind the scenes I've been told it was due to several issues, people leaving garbage, poaching, etc.

I fished it hard a few years back. it was real bad shape. couldnt even catch bait.
