Just because the water is low does not mean there are no fish. BTW welcome to the forums.

Loaded with small resident crappie where ever there is some brush or stumps. Some keepers but not many. Lake needs to be at full pool for them to come in thick.

Loaded with small blue gills and baby largemouth. Small spinners/ roostertails white or chrome. A couple big ones in there.

Caught this one right next to Firewheel bridge fly fishing.

Carp in the deeper pools. From 2-10 lbs a couple big koi too.

Channel cats in deeper pools, end of rapids connected to 4 ft or deeper water. Let your bait bump the bottom against the bank and let the current do the work. They r there waiting for food to come to them. Small split shots are fine. No heavier. Range from 1-8 lbs. most are 15-16 inches. Cut bait or liver.

Don't use heavier than 8 lb line for the cats. Everything else 4-6 lb.

There was nothing wrong with your post RC is still a spot in Rowlett. I was just asking if that was RC, reports from RC was what I was checking this topic for anyway. I appreciate the good info. thanks. I am interested in getting more familiar with Rowlett Creek as it isn't too far from me.

LRH has always done better for me when the water is low. No matter the time of year. Less water in any lake means less area the fish have to move around in. IMO.

Tight lines y'all.
