Re: White Rock Creek - 03/01/13 02:24 PM

Crappie and Sandies still up there? May go this afternoon.
Posted By: TarponFly

Re: White Rock Creek - 03/01/13 04:03 PM

Crappie r still thick at the bend. Sandies r scattered and almost done with their spawn. After one more flood, it will tell u if any sandies r left trying for one more run. Crappie will move out and spawn around the reeds main lake. A few will stay, but if the shad leave, they leave. -but, the shad r still there so catching a few fish shouldn't be a prob. I don't see anymore limits coming out, but again, one more rain will tell us what's up.

For the Bend google Lawther and Goforth Dallas for the Skillman area google Skillman and Merriman Pkwy Dallas. At the bend you will see the parking lot. For Skillman, you will park on Merriman Pkwy and go under the Skillman overpass for the deeper holes head south. Those are two most popular. Good luck.

I went out to the Bend area mentioned above this morning and didn't catch anything. I stopped off at a pond on the way home and caught a large mouth bass to salvage the day.

Re: White Rock Creek - 04/04/14 03:06 PM

Went two days this week. 3 hours each day..... Half a dozen perch and 2-3 5" bass. Am I fishing with the wrong bait here? Honestly, I'm still learning this small creek fishing thing. Striking out big time! Any tips other than fresh minnows?

Re: White Rock Creek - 04/04/14 07:27 PM

Try tomorrow morning.

Re: White Rock Creek - 04/05/14 01:36 AM

Traditionally, by this time of yr the bend is DEAD! I would try way upstream, near Greenville Avenue, nice black bass spawn there, and that is the traditional spawning grounds of the White Rock Lake white bass. If they are still there, you should be able to do quite well, but it should be on the downswing there by now. (whites). T-Fly said they showed up there in mid January and early February. I traditionally have started catching them there around President's day in February, and on good years, all the way up to the first/second week in April(about now) then it dies for bass crappie and sandies, but the channels take up the slack.

Re: White Rock Creek - 04/05/14 02:05 AM

Winter fishing was really bad over there that I didnt bother with the white bass this year. Last year I was catching white bass as far as Walnut Hill.
Posted By: Lovfldx

Re: White Rock Creek - 04/05/14 02:12 AM

Best place to catch them when they run is right at Greenville Avenue, below the Royal Oaks Country club dam
Posted By: regma

Re: White Rock Creek - 04/05/14 02:14 AM

Ill keep that in mind next time I fished that area.
Posted By: Lovfldx

Re: White Rock Creek - 04/05/14 02:23 AM

So Reg, when ya gonna do some "deep night" fishing with me? The crappie are liable to show up any minute, the big bass are in rt now and hungry.
