Looking for south wind bank spots.. 90% South wind around here. Would the park on the Northside be any good? Hybrid/sandies? Thanks for the help

The two best south wind bank points for sandies is south point at Little Mustang Creek and Observation Point. At Little Mustang if you are looking south in the boat trailer parking area there is a little walk thru gate there. There is a beaten down trail there that will take you straight to that point. I didnt see it but heard from a number of people that they did really well catching sandies on that point last year. Right now they have the entrance closed to Mustang though due to the drought. Lake is full now so they should reopen it soon, but call before you go to check.

We used to fish Observation Point all the time in High School. There is no entrance there so just park in the circle drive and walk out to the south point. We used to wade out there and hammer the Sandies on Little Georges and Rooster Tails. That Observation Point cove is a popular cove for the boaters to Sand Bass fish.

Bardwell is stocked heavy with hybrids, but I havent seen and dont hear about many good ones being caught out there. Ive seen some real nice ones being caught at the spillway when they are releasing a lot of water though.
