Those will scare up some "brim".

I'm always looking for a shorter bard and stiffer feather to use on my briminators. Are the ring neck feathers stiffer than a regular pheasant church window feather or Wooly bugger hackle feather?

Those will definitely catch a gill or two

moe; the top fly was tied using the church window feather from the ringneck pheasant; the bottom one is tied using the golden pheasant feather comproable to the church window. Neither is a stiff barb feather but they lay back on the body and "modulate" up and down when you strip the fly. Its hard to match barb length to hook size with these feathers so I just quit trying; some are too long; some too short, but I can't tell if the bite is affected. I tie them from size 14 to size #6 with whatever feather I can find on the bird. Hope this helps-p-

a friend wanted some olive briminators so I used hackle from a hen cape, since I had no olive briminator feathers. They turned out surprisingly well. I think I will start using some of the hen capes for briminators-p-
