Help getting an old white perch fisherman some squirrel tail jigs - 06/03/15 02:37 PM

I would appreciate it if any of you jig makers know of anyone that make a squirrel tail jig. I used to fish in my home state of La. with these most of my adult life. I now live in San Antonio and would like to start fishing for Crappie (white perch) again. I have zero equipment. I used to fish with a carbon rod 8 feet with 6 to 8 pound line, normally stren, cause I could see it good above water and at night. Colors were pretty much chartreuse with pink head, red head with black tail, and pink head with pale blue.
I see a lot of new tube type plastics and road runners still being used, and would like some recommendations on the latest style or type of jigs being used. I will be fishing choke canyon, LBJ, Canyon, and Fork, mostly and have my first trip planned to Amistad next month. Any suggestions on who /where to contact for jigs would be appreciated. Thanks JB

anyone have some russian blue squirrel ? I have some gray squirrel tails to trade.
The russian blue squirrel also possibly known as the canadian black squirrel has finer natural black hair, longer than grey or fox squirrel.

After looking I see he has Natural Black Squirrel tails, but didn't mention Russian or Canadian. If you really want some I can probably get them for you, but need to see what his price is now and also how many you want? I do see they are a good bit higher cost than the other kinds of squirrels by at least 50% more per tail.

Anyway PM me if you want me to check with him, but he is a hug wholesale guy and don't think a few of them will get his attention and then the shipping would cost more than a couple tails, LOL! SO how many are you looking for? Remember this guy is not like places you probably know about and this guy sells things in big quantities. Heck he has several price levels as in like if you buy 3-39 Price A, then 40 -79 is price B, 80-159 is price C and then 160+ in final price and that is for Fox and Gray Squirrel tails. The Black didn't have the quantity thing offered so think they are harder to come by. Still how many and is there anything else you may need that we could get from him?

I am going to jump in here to tell the OP that you don't need squirrel tail jigs to catch crappie or
white perch as our Louisiana neighbors call them. Go to Skip's website and pick out the colors you like
Buy you some and hold on. I promise Skip's jigs will catch you some white perch. As for plastic we kill
them on the lake here where I live during the winter on plastics. Slab Bandits, Bobby Garland, Mr. Crappie
will all catch you fish if you put it in front of them.
