New Tying Station

About a month ago, my wife acquired a desk that belonged to her father. Her father passed away back in the early 80's. It was in pretty sad shape. I had to rebuild some drawers, and tighten several joints. I removed all the built up varnish and stain taking it down to bare wood. I stained it completely inside and out with a stain called Cabernet by Rustoleum, then put on 5 coats of Polyurethane. It took all month to complete.Its going to be my new tying station.

Looks good! Can't wait to see what it looks all decked out!

Real nice job, you did the overhaul and now you have a great place to tie!

Great job. You will tie many nice jigs on that desk and enjoy many good memories while doing it.

It's still a work in progress. I built a pegboard frame and installed it above the desk. I needed a place to store thread, so I built one to go all the way across the desk. I am also building 3 shelves to go above the desk.

That station is looking awesome!

I wasn't able to capture all in one shot, but I wanted to share the end result with everyone. I need a chair now! My barstool I used to use is too tall. I used 1 x 12's for the shelves and finished them in the same theme as the desk.

I could NOT tie jigs there,.... WAY too organized!!!

AND CLEAN!!

Not for long fellows. I plan on dirtying it up this weekend

Thank you for the kind words. It was a labor of love. I wanted a nice place to relax and Ty come an evening. I find all the days stresses melt when I'm at the vice. Well, most of the stresses, with the exception of poking my finger on a hook or something. haha
