Thank you guys! Okay here is the deal on this kind of tie.

First thread base, then the tail, then tie in a piece of Lateral Scale flash and wrap over the thread base to the head.

Then tie in the hackle at the back end and leave hanging off the back until the glue is on, apply UV glue kind of thick over the Lateral Scale.

Once done wrap the Hackle to the head and hold tight while hitting it with the UV light in place, then finish.

The stem of the Hackle should have embedded into the glue so it's not just wrapped over something and tied off. Without the glue if something cuts the Hackle stem the jigs is done for.

Depending on how tight the wraps of the hackle is will also either mostly cover the Lateral Scale up kind of like this one or if not so tight more of it will show through.

I do have another one I did back in 2011 that will show this more clear? One in regular light and one either under a Black light or a UV light?

You can see how the stem in embedded into the glue on these pics.

Okay I am still looking for the video I first saw that lead me to this and will post if I find it, but this one is about the same thing, just don't have the lateral scale where you can see it after it's tied, but still same kind of thing.

Thank you guys and your welcome!

There are a lot of flies tied using Palmered Hackle and if one tooth cuts that on a fly not tied like this, it's trash after that stem is cut, but this protects that somewhat!
