LAKE FORK GUIDE, ERIC WRIGHT 2016 - 02/09/16 03:38 PM

BOOKING INFORMATION

For those looking to book your 2016 Lake Fork trips I still have days available and would love the opportunity to work with you. Once these fish start turning on, I book up pretty fast late Fall/Spring and Summer.

Last season we started to catch some really nice fish in early/mid February and the largest of the season (11.32pound) was caught in early March 48-52 degree water out deep. So, if you're looking to catch some really big fish it doesn't hurt to start early in the season. Over all we had an incredible season and caught a lot of big fish. I'll post a few pictures below, if you would like to see more or find additional information please visit my site.

Thanks and if you have any questions please feel free to give me a call. Eric Wright, Lake Fork Guide. 972-757-7947

Re: LAKE FORK GUIDE, ERIC WRIGHT 2016 - 02/18/16 04:42 PM

Here is how its been going for me on Lake Fork.

The bite is still a little slow but its getting better with every warm day. The water temps in the morning are around 52 degrees then as it warms up throughout the day the temps by the evenings have been around 60 degrees.

I am catching most of my better fish in 1’ to 5’ of water in creeks that they seem to move up on beds first. In these spots, I am fishing a 3/8 ounce Chatterbait (white) with a Skinny Dipper (white) for the trailer. As it warms up I am fishing a weightless fluke on a #3 rigging hook in (watermelon magic or watermelon candy) with a dipped chartreuse tail.

I also want to let the anglers who are fishing tournaments know that I am still catching some of my unders out in 30’ on a drop shot with a 3/8 ounce weight, a #1 rigging hook with about a 2 foot leader. This leader is set a little longer than usual for me. To catch these fish I’m really not having to work the bait much, I’m almost just dragging it.

If any of y'all are looking to book a trip on Lake Fork, I would love to have the opportunity to take you out and show you what this great lake has to offer. With spring right around the corner this lake is just going to get better and better. I still have some days available in March and April if any of y'all are wanting to get out on the lake.

I have March 4th & 7th available and a few more days later in the month.

The fishing is getting right and these fish are about to be locked on. We had 20 fish yesterday and I'll have a report up soon.
