Any Lake Fork Bass 13 lbs or larger Caught inMarch / April 2015 - 03/22/15 02:49 AM

I have a offer for anyone who catches a 13 lb fish or larger from now through all of April from Lake Fork. I would like to REWARD you for such a great catch.

Here is the deal. If you are lucky enough to catch a fish over 13 lbs take it to a marina and get a picture of the certified weight and release the fish back into Lake Fork the same day, with out putting it into the SAL program,

I will give you a full day guide trip on Lake Fork. This is about the same value as the replica they will offer for the use of the fish.No Fame or Glory just letting the fish go back to home waters.

Please take a picture or video of the fish being released back into the lake.(For Media Purposes)

Take it or leave it.

My reason for doing this is I want the Trophy Bass to Stay in Lake Fork ! Lets make Fork better by keeping our Trophy Bass right here at home.

Awesome deal and nice of you to put that out there. Maybe this Illinois guy might get lucky and do just that while down there. Plan on hitting the lake the first 12 days in April. Arrive the 1st and have 10 days to fish before heading back home.

Good Luck and I hope you do catch that fish of a lifetime. Looking each day to pick up more sponsors to sweeten the pot a little better. Hopefully by next year we can take this state wide.

Thanks

Nice offer Marc but if they catch a 13 lber they probably don't need a guide. Just saying. But I totally agree with you to keep the big fish healthy and returned to the lake asap. TPWD took a 13 lber from Palestine (at the time the lake record) for the SAL and it's still at the fisheries on display. They never returned her to the lake and it was the lake record. Palestine produced another 13 lber the next year that is the new lake record and they returned her but they need to put the first one back as well. Give another fishermen a chance to catch a bass of a lifetime.

Anyone can get lucky. Is that not what fishing is mostly luck ? IMO when you learn how to fish for and catch big bass on a regular basis that is something you can learn with time and a guide trip can teach you many things to improve your odds next time out with out waiting 20 years to learn them on your own. Well all the big fish are safe. Lets just say that Lake Fork kept me humble lol. I managed only 4 fish the whole trip. Had a blast as it is called fishing and not catching for a reason. Got to see my 2nd family while down there and also fish two days with my best friend from Texas. Lake Fork is beautiful and also reminded me she can be mean sometimes lol. Dirty water on one end of the lake and clear water on the other. Love the place and will be back.

Well the pot just got sweeter !!! We have a private investor willing to pay $500 for every Certified 13 lb fish from Lake Fork to be released that day with pictures and witnesses.

Fish must be weighed at a Marina with pictures of the certified weight, and pictures or videos of the fish being released back into Lake Fork the same day.

Fish cannot be put into the SAL program then released.

Has to be the day of the catch and she has to be alive at the time of release to swim off to be FREE and back into her natural settings.Feel free to call me anytime to come see the release or have a witness show up to see the release.

This offer runs to the end of April but may be extended if she has eggs. The goal is to make sure they spawn in Lake Fork, not in a tank to be distributed all over Texas.

So here is what you get for all the above. A full Day Guide Trip on Lake Fork and $500 cash ! Is that not Awesome ! And the fish gets to live back in her home waters !!! Win...Win for all !!!

Operation Keep The Big Bass In Lake Fork !

Mark, very cool deal for you to offer. However, it still requires the fish to get a free boat ride and handled multiple times. You and I both know how easily big fish stress. Catch, photo, in the livewell, boat ride, out of the livewell, into the marina, out of the bag, onto the scales. Repeat to verify. More photos. Then back in the bag, out to the boat, in the livewell, off for another boat ride, out of the livewell, take more photos and GoPro of this great fish swimming away. Only to die before she spawns.

I'm all for what you're trying to do. I've read many times where you've stated the fish should be CPR and released immediately. I agree. I'm not sure the above process is doing anything to ensure that fish's survival and successful spawning.

We have to do something to keep it honest or every fish would weigh 13 lbs to get the freebies. I would rather the fish take a short boat ride to a marina then a 100 mile truck ride any day ! Then it has a chance to spawn in her home water not a concrete tank. Just a chance we have to take with keeping everything honest.I would rather take the chances this way than the other. If the program goes away we would not have to worry about any of this. IMO
