Lewisville Memorial Day

Lewisville Memorial Day - 05/29/17 10:31 PM

Memorial Day is especially important as we are reminded of the lives laid down and the great sacrafices the men and women of the Armed Forces make to defend our way of life. Without them none of us would be able to enjoy the freedoms we love like chaising blue cats. flag flag flag

Today was zero wind so we broke out the trolling motor and ran the planers out the back. Bite was slow as expected but we managed to get 15 eaters and a couple of gooduns. Small isolated humps were the ticket. All fish released to fight another day. fish

You sure seem to have the big ones figured out nice job. How was the boat traffic out there today?

. Lots of boats on the water but far less than most years. Wish I could say I have the bigguns figured out but I'm just lucky. Helix 12 sure don't hurt! Been able to find some gooduns on humps lately and fortunate that they wanted to eat my Bluegills.

Congrats! You are a brave man. Rollers don't scare me but Memorial Day boaters terrify me!! I stayed home and fed the pond fish. cheers

Memorial Day boaters aren't too bad before 2 pm...heat and alcohol kick in and it's bye bye to all common since. It can be some real comedy watching them at the ramp trying to trailer a boat half cocked and inexperienced. I use a ramp that most don't know about so I can get on and off the lake without any real hassles even on the busiest days of the year ..I have found that the sail boaters are bye far the most dangerous boaters on my lake and if they are racing watch out cause they will straight up broadside a drifter!

No joke about the sailboats on that lake. Saw 2 sailboats hit each other last weekend. At least they didn't hit me. Sometimes I think they try to sail as close as possible while we are drifting. I passed on booking any trips yesterday. Nice weather plus a holiday spells disaster. If it's windy or rainy it helps keep some of them at the dock or house. Good job on the fish without wind.

I almost got hit twice that same day Jacky...I've noticed half the time the sailboats never even see me or hit the oh $hiz button when they are right on top of you. Kurtis had a near miss the same day and the sailor told him "sorry, were racing"
