CTCT Lake Limestone Tournament 2-25-2017 - 02/10/17 01:47 AM

We just recently held up our Lake Waco tournament, and the next one is quickly approaching. Lake Limestone is up next on February 25th. The tournament will be held at Lake Limestone Campground & Marina. A percentage of the money CTCT anglers spend on cabin rentals for the tournament & on food & drinks at the captains meeting will be donated back to CTCT to be put towards the payout of this tournament. We have had great turnouts and have already paid out over $6000 in cash at the first 2 events alone! There is also a growing sidepot for a lake record catch that currently sits at $260. I think that record will be VERY reachable at Lake Limestone with a lake record flathead of only 27.61 lbs. More details can be found below, on the facbook page, or send me a PM for more information.

Friday (24th) & Saturday (25th) were BFT (Buffet days on my Calendar). That's usually when I catch ChannelCats. The 24th & 25th were also my PYC Days- a 2 day YC run according to their pattern, but not strong enought to knock out BFT in lieu of YC days as per the main calendar. I was just wondering as to the head count each per Yellows, Blues, and Channels. And what was the Big Fish, as to Channel, Blue, or Yellow?

Does your Callender have considerations for two consecutive cold fronts in 24 hour, following 80 degree days.... big fish was a blue. No flatheads caught.

Full results from the Lake Limestone Tournament. John Dillard & Jerry Dillard with 46.86 lbs for 1st place. 2nd place was Aaron Newsome & Daniel Sanchez with 43.54 lbs. 3rd place was Roy Ewing, Jason Cummings, & Garth Goodwin with 40.00 lbs. Big Fish went to the 4th place team of Randy Miller & Johnny Ward with a 31.26 lb bluecat. Big thanks to all the participants that came out and the Lake Limestone Marina & Campground for hosting the tournament. Next up is Lake Bardwell on March 18th.

Congrats to All!

Yes, you are correct, the Catfish Calendar concedes (acknowledges) that certain weather can alter consequences. And of course other items (occurrences) could factor in. Many have probably realized just in the past few years, as to how the weather can dramatically shift back & forth almost in a sense of defining it as traumatically. I think No-Eyes summed it up best as she coined it, "Summer, Winter, All mix up."

But I have also noticed another aspect, as to seeing certain patterns (over the years & my experience with the Catfish Calendar), concerning some YC days on the Calendar, as to how the weather changes on the first day (or thereabouts) on a string of YC days. It is as if by some means, they signal a weather change. It is as if it somehow knew of the change beforehand. The Lunar aspect weighs heavily into the Calendar, almost as if it guides, senses, or sees, depending upon how you might interpret its connection. The Moon actually has no light of its own, but merely reflects what it "sees", almost as if some sort of oracle.

Jerry posted the head count as to 100 Cats brought in. And mike9582 noted there were no Yellows caught & the Big Fish was a Blue. I was still wondering as to how many of those were Channels.

Re: CTCT Lake Limestone Tournament 2-25-2017 - 02/28/17 01:00 PM

Of the 5 we weighed in we had 1 channel and 4 blues. We caught between 20 and 25 fish all day, only 2 of them were channels and the rest were blues.

Of the 100 fish weighed im guessing approximately 20 of them were channels.

Good way to document more calender data is make the weigh in and take notes

Re: CTCT Lake Limestone Tournament 2-25-2017 - 03/02/17 01:37 AM

First off, I had an OOPSie!
+++++++++++++++++++++
Friday (24th) & Saturday (25th) were BFT (Buffet days on my Calendar). That's usually when I catch ChannelCats. The 24th & 25th were also my PYC Days- a 2 day YC run according to their pattern,
+++++++++++++++++++++

I glanced at the first Quarter the other day & since the days of February & March (as to the numbers 1-28 & their weekly days), I obviously did not take another look. I just realized a few minutes ago that I jotted March instead, as to 24th & 25th. The weekend of the Lake Limestone February Tournament was actually Friday 24th- BC, Saturday 25th- BFT, and Sunday 26th- BFT. And Saturday & Sunday (24th/25th) were the 2 day run (PYC days) instead. My Bad.

Hmm, that changes the angle I was researching, 2nd day of BFT & Channels caught comparison. Instead, it was following a BC day instead. But from your estimate, it seems the tournament weigh-in brought in about 20% Channels (estimated).

And yes, I would have liked to have swung by to catch the weigh-in, but other obligations had me tied up elsewhere. Sometimes you feel like a wishbone & sometimes you just know that you are.

Anyway, Congrats to All!!!
