Great Day on the Lake Sunday morning!! - 04/18/16 11:22 PM

I wanted to get out on the lake to see how the fish would bite before a storm hit. Luckily I think it paid off. The one hour and twenty minute drive was work it. Fish fry indeed.

Fishing (at Tawakoni) is like a box of chocolate...

Not sure about other lakes, but at Tawakoni, those who fish with lite tackles usually quickly become just spectators when fishing next to the regulars all of them use 9 to 12 foot poles. I have given countless of catfish to families who fished near me with light and short gears.

BTW, Nice haul thumb

Btw, Cyberfisherman, next time bring a minnow seine and catch some ghost minnows to use as bait and cast out a little further out, you might catch bigger blues with gosh minnows than shad. Hook the minnows like you would worm on 3-way rig...

I use 2/0 and 4/0 offset octopus hooks for gm, your poles should work, sometimes the bites are so soft you might miss some on the 14' poke, however if you prop your pole at 45 degree angle you see the bites better.

man, i love that first photo. looks so classic, MAN vs NATURE. did u apply any special effect, if so what would it be. Good JOB btw. this really pumps me up and make me wanna go fishing. i really need to invest into this seine net thing as i don't get much luck with chicken breast. But i usually go fishing solo, and my understanding is that you need two man to operate the net...

how deep did u fish? i wonder if i am fishing too shallow at lavon.

Dunkky, if you have a 1/4 inch mesh castnet you don't need two people to catch gm.
