Is there a good way to locate mussel beds without diving? I have a good idea of where to look on my favorite lake from back when the lake was low, but what about a new lake you've never been on.

no idea but I do find them accidently using my anchors

You need a rake with a basket on it. Same thing that's used with clams and oysters.
