omerville winter fishing 12/15 - 12/15/15 11:10 PM
Fished Somerville today with Freeman from Little River and Ron from Smithville. Ron was needing some fish for a fish fry for some of his friends.
Lake came up a foot yesterday and another 8 inches today. Creeks are still running strong, so looking for more rise on the lake. Water temp was 58 degrees when we left the ramp.
The fish followed the fresh water. Bite was on quickly. We were using bobbers in 7-8 foot water with a little current from the creek flows.
We had seven fish in the 4-5# range with the largest going 8#, a nice channel cat. We also landed a channel cat with forked whiskers instead of straight whiskers.
Ended the morning by 9:45 am with 75 cats. All fish caught on CJ's Crawdad punch bait.
