Fishing in or out of the wind? - 10/15/15 07:14 PM
Most of the time, I prefer to fish the shore that the wind is hitting. Theory is the baitfish will be blown there, and the fish will follow. But, I hate every moment of it. Harder to feel the bite, harder to hold on a spot, etc. What about you?

Depends on the time of year, lol. When it's hot, I prefer any breeze over sitting in a hot, stagnant area. When it's cold, I can't stand the wind. To your point, fishing in too much wind creates a lot of problems with boat control, whether anchored or drifting. Overall, I'll take fishing on the windy side as that seems to be best most times. Not that the bait gets blown to that side, the shad and perch swim just fine. But, shad follow the plankton and that does get moved around based on which way the wind is blowing so they're just following their food source too.
