Lake nasworthy - 09/07/15 04:44 PM

Wanted to say hello to everyone. Newby to the forum but die hard catfisherman for 50 years. Was wondering if anyone has ever catfished on lake nasworthy in San Angelo. I work on some ranches near there and thought about trying it at night when all the ski boats and jet skis have gone to bed. Thanks much

Not sure about Nas but I hear that twin Buttes has some good cats in it.

Thanks. I used to fish twin buttes back in the 70s when full - great cat fishing. Since then, including now, it's been super low with ramps out of water. They drain twin buttes to keep lake nasworthy full. One of the ranches I take care of is on the llano river south of junction. Great yellow cats on perch and on rod and reel at night

IMO North Concho (OC Fisher) has historically been the best catfishery of the three lakes. But it was bone dry for a LONG time so it will take some time to rebuild.

I have seen some really nice yellows taken out of Nasworthy but I didn't catch any of them roflmao

There are more big fish than most realize in buetts still.
