My new to me boat

2009 sun tracker fishing barge 21. Boat and motor are both in very good shape. I was really surprised how nice it was




Not the best picture so I will get some more up when I get it on the water. Very first thing I did was pull out the changing popup deal in the back to gain three more foot of deck space back there. Got two bee ready double pole holders mount to the front this morning. Will see how those do then pick up a few for the back also.

Could use some recommendations on good things to keep while out fishing. I have bought a decent amount of tackle to rig the poles, and have four setups now for catfish and two good bass rods and a nice little crappie rod as well. One thing I need for sure is some way to store rods while I am driving around or the boat is in the marina. I got a slip on lavon yesterday so it will be staying at the marina full time. Only thing wrong with the boat is there is no rod locker.

Very nice!! before you know it you will have that rigged out for some great catfishin! I'd definately look into a couple of box anchors. Congrats on your boat!

Thanks guys, used to have bass boat a few years ago but this is going to be much better, plenty of room and throw out a bunch of poles and kick back and relax, that is my kind of fishing. Hopefully I can get in on the water tonight and get it to its new home in the marina.

Thanks, I was just over there yesterday and got two of the two rod holders on the mount to put on each corner of the front for now. I kinda of got distracted in there and spent a bunch, So will have to head back over there and get a few more things once I get back to work....

Got it in the water tonight and did some driving around. Boat runs great. And got it parked in the marina no problem. I know I need an anchor, and some pole holders for while I am driving the boat. But also really need to get a fish finder setup so that i know how much water I am in. And I can find the structure and drop offs. Still not sure if I should go with hummingbird or lowrance. Just to many options to choose from.

Looks pretty good! Hard to beat a pontoon for roominess. Get some slime on it and you'll be good to go.

I have the same boat but its a 2005. Still runs like a champ and love fishing from it....they are great boats....the first time you submarine it will be fun but it comes right up good way to wash the deck lol. Hope you enjoy your boat.

It scared the bejezzers out of me first time I submarined my toon-
I quickly learned how to NOT do that again-

And its kinda scary on first Submarine time.

Believe me I try to avoid taking it for a dive but sometimes you cant avoid it.....especially if you get caught in a storm.

Good news great news and bad news.

Good news is I got my fishing pole holders installed today since I left work early.




Great news is my dad surprised me with a hds gen two touch 7 fish finder to put on the boat. He used his cabelas points and found one in the Bargin cave for 730. So I left work early to go put it on and spent an hour or two buried under the console getting all the wires ran. Got it mounted on a ram mount and put on the dash then it would power on. Guess we found out why it was in the bargain cave. So I went back to cabelas and found a manager. He took care of me a have me a full refund on what my dad paid and sold me the hds7 gen three for $1010. So I was only out of pocket about 200. Now I have to find some time to go get this one installed.

We'll I took my brother and buddy out tonight for a little fishing. The new rod holders worked great and I didn't have to have my rods laying all over the floor. Also got the new fish finder mounted and powers up. Just have to pull the boat out of the slip and put it on the trailer for a few mins to run the transducer correctly.




We managed to catch two decent cats. But had a great time.







Lake was great tonight.

Took a swim tonight and got the transducer mount and hooked up to the new fish finder. It is all up and working now. Just have to figure out how to use it and what all it does. But at least I will know how deep of water I am in. My brother also bought me another rod holder so I got it mounted on the back with the other three. Things are coming together and working great. But also had a little problem. When we were out fishing wed night I told my brother that we can not forget to get the shad out of the bait box, frozen shad just put them there to store. Well you can probably guess what we forgot to do so now I need to go back and do some cleaning.

Went out tonight and we got two again this time. Still haven't found a spot on lavon to get big numbers but at least we are putting something in the boat. Only got a picture of one. The other was about the same size.
