Slip corks my son is making

Slip corks my son is making - 07/22/15 05:43 PM

I orders some slip corks from Black worrier lures.com well they were nice but he used a thin jewelry wire in looked in a cercle and then sewing thread and laccker to keep it on the end of the wire. so every time you realed in the wind would bend and the swivel would get stuck and you would have to bend int back. well after a day of fishing the wire would break. so I looked at it and it looked like an easy problem to salve i got some screw in eyelets and wood glued then them we double lacker them then pain them So far all out customers love them and usely buy some and bait before the leave. I had a crappie fishermen at the boat ramp on waco nice them and like them he bought some they cast like no other bobber my 13yr son is making them to sell for$1.50 each

here is a pic of one the work very well and are really sensitive the are made with wine corks 17in dowel you can see them from way off i used them to go sun fishing yesterday and there were setoff enough and light enough that even a 3-4 sun fish could take them under. you can really cast them far with little effort

these alone with the new dip bait is a killer combo the dip bait is the same as the origanl bait just and nearly as think i leave it a bit soft it will work well in the winter time. I made it last winter for some people who fish punch baits year round and it works well it disavedl and broke down even in the cold water I use the cheap dip bait tubes from wall mart with the song on the hook the best part is it sells even better then the original bait. it works well in this heat too. take a look at the slip corks i think a lot of crappie guides would like it too he panted them in 3 callers red orange and yellow so you can see them from far off the bit on waco was supper light the past few days and my regular corks a friend made for me work well but we were still missing a lot we put these on and started to get hook ups it was picking up the slightest bump. past 2 trips we used the dip bait even one got tired of trying to use a stick and just used out fingers since it does not stink they just wanted a rag to wip off there fingers. My 5yr and of the the customers 6yr girls were baiting there own lines with the dip bait they liked playing with it before packing there bait older first. i gave them the option of the dough but the were happy with the dip bait and we did pretty well with 16mph winds and one group never fished before they still went home with 48 keepers and never fishined before. the other goup was more experienced fisherman and had a boat but he and been unable catch any cats and was more invested in learning then catching and was done my 1130 we still managed 34 nice keepers the females were still full of egges
if your interested in the corks let me know he is out side painting a bunch up

Well. And for that price you don't have to worry if you loose one. I am buying some more that's how good they are. Best $1.50 you will spend. Also try out the dip bait it works great

Looks like he has to drink a bottle of wine for every float he makes. Not a bad way to make a buck.

ya to bad i dont drink my son works at an Italian restrain he gets bags of them for free

$1.50 each plus shipping they are really nice to use you still need the slip not and bead its more the fair price i think me cuts the dowls drills out the corks woold glues the eyes in double lacquers then and paint the tips they work great for crappie fishing as well

the ones i helped him use and a sample were a bit shorter and the eye would bend and then break and he used sowing string to hold them on with lacquer they looked nice but idid not work out as well either the jewelry wire wold bend and after a while of bending it back in place or the thread would come un wrapped and the eyelet would fall off his first try he just screwed the eyelet in the end but after about 2 days of fishing it came out so we screwed them in took them out cover them with work glue and screwed them in tited we have not had one come off yet

i just want to thank every one who is buying these corks my he has sold close to 75 so far and is out side still making more you wont be disappointed these are nice corks I had a group out on waco today we were close to limiting out and they called it quits do to heat we picked a lot of larger cats in the 5-6lbs range after we were done fishing my son and i went out and pick up close to 40 before i called it quits do to my pain the bit has pick up and not nearly as light as it has been for a few days the bit was so light that it was hard to tell leading to a lot of missed fish. I had a customer who when down to belton around the 36st bring they picked up 20 called it good and when home he said. He said the they were bitting a lot better then they had been as well

Just one question about the screw in eye will it catch a bobber stop bead or will I have to add another larger bead ?

no it will work with the green little bead it is an 8mm eyelet hole that is one think i made sure off because if you have to use the larger red ones they go over the knot
