Lake Somerville 4/12-14 - 04/14/15 11:27 PM
We just finished a three day fishing outing with my friends. It was the 12th annual Weldon Kirk Invitational outing. This year we held it at Lake Somerville.
My friends Freeman, Steve, Howard, Richard, Shane, and myself stayed at Overlook Marina Cabins. A couple of the guys could not make the trip.
Lots of fun for all.
On Sunday three of us arrived and fished one boat with a total of 74 fish. Then on Monday we fished two boats and caught 157 cats. We finished off the trip on Tuesday morning with 104 more fish. For a grand total of 235 cats, producing 29 gallon bags of fillets, with the largest cat going 7.75#.
All fish caught on either Crawdad or Hopper CJ's punch bait, under corks, in 3-6 foot water.
