Granger 4/12 - 04/12/15 09:32 PM

People on here have been asking about reports on Granger. I decided to go this morning and ended up with a limit of blues and channels. All fish were caught in 1 to 2 ft. of water. Flooded brush and grass is the way to go right now. Water was 68-72*

Nice job! I was out there too and wish I had decided to target the Cats when I saw every Jugline I scanned with my HB SI having a cat on it.

Right now there is no limit of willow in the water.

SureShot? Googled it and cannot find anything!! From the bank or boat? I've been to Granger with buds 3-5 times and we always end up with like 1 or 2 channels.. frown any tips on what gear/setup would be sweet!

Chuchu gave the link for the bait. I was in a boat. I was just using a 1oz. weight with a 16" leader and a #6 treble hook fishing on the bottom. I was by myself and I'll put ten rods out. I like to spread them out too find the sweet spot. It can get pretty crazy at times, but its a lot of fun when you have multiple rods going down at the same time. April and May is the best time to load up on eaters on granger. It will get better the next couple weeks.

Did yall go on the Willis Creek side or up the San Gabriel river?

There is no secret spot I was fishing. You can catch fish like this on Granger all over the lake. I fish it a lot and think I know it pretty well. Pay attention to the wind, and let it tell you where to fish. I was around the Friendship area that day,but up in the river end and around willis creek area is just as good. I fished two spots that day. First spot I caught 7 real quick and it shut off,I moved about 50 yrds over and it was nonstop action after that. This weekend we have a front coming with wind change,it might make it a little tuff. Fish might be scattered.

I'll be there Sunday with a friend that is new to fishing and maybe another friend-- hoping to not get skunked this time, like the last 3-4 times frown We bank fish, maybe 5 rods out max-- Should we try near friendship? Heard about some beach area but I am new to the area and we drive 30-40 mins to get there. Just wanna watch a good haul for once and get my friends into fishing!

Thanks laugh

I usually do a 1 oz egg weight/barrel swivel/12 inch leader with either #6 treble/punch or dough bait or a size 6 circle with worms/minnow -- We don't have a cast net, so shad/perch may be out of question? I could hit pfluger near my house and get some perch there, hopefully-- Anyway, any help to finally have a great time at granger, would be great laugh

Thanks guys!

Try some punch bait, CJ's Crayfish, under a slip cork in 2 to 3 foot of water.

Go to Academy or Walmart and buy you a cheap at least 4' cast net and you'll never have to buy catfish bait again!

Here are the spots that we've tried with very little luck-- If anyone can recommend other bank spots that worked, we just wanna catch fish for once :P

I wish I could give you some advise but we fish out of a boat and get skunked a lot. If something changes I'll let you know.
