The wind is a little more of a concern if you fish from a kayak like I do.
I've been hitting the sandies and crappie the past month, now it's time for catfish until next spring.

That's when ya book a trip with me!!!! Lol

As soon as I manage to actually land a single fish for the year I will definitely post about it. I've been out 4 or 5 times and haven't done anything but waste bait. Last fish I had my hands on was caught by my daughter at Joe Pool.

I don't catch many in the river, no volume or huge sizes. Last Friday I got a blue and channel, yesterday a channel and blue. Friday it was blue on shrimp and channel on liver, yesterday it was channel on shrimp and blue on liver. All in the 2 1/2# frying pan range.

Saturday, cooler full in the first few hours. 22# big fish. Shallow 3-5 cut shad.

We caught eater size today on shad at Ray Hubbard. Decent eaters, nothing over 7 lbs. It was hit an miss. Great pull downs then....nada.... like they were teasing us. It was still fun and they got a fish fry for tonight.

I absolutey hate the days where they do that. Iv found that is a pretty typical pattern for the first day or 2 after a front blows through during the spring.

It there is no wind I stay home and pull weeds in my garden. The wind is your friend if you want to catch fish.
