Fishing For a Cure April 18, 2015 Lake Belton - 03/12/15 08:20 PM

Last year we were able to hold the first ever Fishing For a Cure Catfish Challenge on Belton Lake, benefiting Mike Padgett in his fight with cancer. Fortunately, Mike is doing well now.

This year we will be holding the 2nd Fishing For a Cure Catfish Challenge. This year the earnings will be benefiting Jim Boniface in his battle with cancer. Please come out to support a great cause, and catch a few fish as well.

You know they've already developed a cure for some cancers and it should be available by 2016 after it goes through the FDA trials and what not. Seen it on an HBO Documentary a few weeks ago where they're using virus's to kill the cancer. It's not a treatment but a cure and they're very excited about it ... should be able to look it up on the net by now ... type in a search like this "using virus to cure cancer" and there should be plenty of info on it. Just thought I'd post that since it's what this benefit is about. Exciting news!!!! The most cruel disease that's ever been dealt with by human kind is almost ready to be history ... like smallpox because if I remember right it may also be a good vacine for cancer as well. Just think bout that ... No more cancer and when I think about it it kinda makes me sad as I've lost loved ones recently to that terrible disease. If they coulda held on for a little longer I might still have them with me.

Were just a little more than a week away guys. Come on out and have some fun guys and support a great cause.

Chemdawg is donating some of his bait for us to give away. Even if you don't catch a fish, there's still going to be a good chance for you to go home with something.
