Did anybody watch that guy using bits of onion and baited
out his trotline. He caught channel cats with it!
i know a guy who baits his perch traps with onion.

I bait a perch trap with a white styrophoam cup. Never herd of onion.

If your fishing for curiousity purposes then give it a shot, if you are fishing for the table or to have a fun day of catching fish get some good proven bait that you know will work. Save the onion for the hamburger plus when you cut it up people will see you cry and start feeling sorry for you cause they will think you havent caught any fish

I've used white onion in my perch trap several times; works amazingly well.

Ive tried onions and styrophoam cups and never done much good in my perch traps..ive found bread to be best for me..every time a loaf gets a little mold on it I just throw the bread bag in the freezer and save it for my traps
